What would happen if you stopped doubting yourself?

Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.

Taking a chance on yourself is the greatest kind of magic there is in life as it requires you to have faith in something that has yet to prove itself.

This shows up in all kinds of places.

When you are going for a change in career, an upgrade of your living conditions or even taking up a new hobby the element of the unknown is immense. And without the presence of magic, faith, trust, belief or courage - whatever you choose to call it - then the chances of you taking the great leap becomes slim.

Even if you were on the precipice and there was only a little further to go…doubt never fails to disappoint and it has an annoying habit of sabotaging all your hard work.

Doubt looks like when:

  • You turn away.

  • You say you’ll try again later when the time is right (or not as wrong as it is now).

  • The promises you made to yourself are compromised.

  • Priorities are restructured and renegotiated.

  • Time stretches like cold honey and months pass with nothing to show for it.

And that little bit of hesitance (that didn’t seem like that big of a deal at the start) builds.

We are told this story in society that there will come a time when the pain is enough or the passion is going to carry us away to the results we desire - but the thing is…the ugly truth of it all…and what you need to face…is that hesitation is the breeding ground of doubt and like a particularly virulent virus it flourishes in these conditions.

You might recognise it by the other common symptoms: indecision, over-analysis, perfectionism.

Momentum isn’t just about the speed through which something occurs but the energy that is present throughout the process.

Doubt is the #1 killer of dreams but it doesn’t have to be.

Here are some ideas when it comes to ditching the habit of doubt:

  • Create an appreciation and gratitude list - and add to it daily.

  • Meditate for even 5 minutes a day.

  • Practice the faith muscle (stop waiting to feel certain before you begin).

  • Share your doubts in a supportive and positive group.

  • Actively look for what is going right in your life.

This list is just a start - and if you are wanting more specific help then reach out!
